I have read a lot about how you need to keep track of your winnings
and losses on a session by session level. I however, have never been

That said, I did attempt to keep very detailed records of my wins and
losses for about a year.

just count your money before you leave to go to a poker game
count your money after you get home or the next morning

write both numbers down and do the related math when you are ready
