While a person such as yourself thinks of this as timing out, it's
called the 'clock strategy'. While most of you are clueless about
this, I seldom if ever take a big blind when it comes around and the
blinds are going up. I time it so the blinds go up on my button.

This way, I make or save several thousand by watching the clock. I do
this in the last 3-4 minutes of the blind period.

Since you think this is so easily done, try it. Besides, Raider had to
go to smoke and communications weren't the best.

In fact, at the end, after the last period, he was out smoking and the
game was going.

But, it's all in my book. I did play 3 tourneys with Raider today and
all were cashes. My Ace ratio to cards must have been about 30-1.

I will tell you what Mo-ron phy, I will give you 5-2 on any tourney
you can cash in with at least 400 players and a $10,000 guarantee.
There were 558 players.

I do what you're supposed to do, cash and win. Raider will post his
opinion.

I stall all the times in the last few minutes before the blinds go up,
just to get the button and save the money of getting the BB when the
time period expires.

Plus, when down to 90 plus players, I had all the games on the screen
watching all the others trying to make the money.

I ended up in 58th out of 558.

You did this every single hand for 30 minutes. It's ok, you can explain
it away however you want, but those of us who know better know exactly
what you were doing.

It was an impressive smoke break then, since he was able to sit back in
after every hand he times out in.

I don't play tourneys, but thanks for the offer. This also has nothing to
do with me, but everything to do with your level of integrity, or lack of.

Russ was one of many players using the clock to make the money and I
don't imagine any of the others had as much to gain as Russ. Give the
guy some credit...he put his money where his mouth was ( with odds not
in his favor) and now has his detractors money in his pocket!

I agree. This wasn't a bar bet, or like in Tin Cup as another posted stated
where you expect one thing and the guy offering the proposition did
something else.

Everyone who bet Russ knew how on-line tournaments operate. There were no
surprises and no dirty tricks (that I could see, at least). Quit whining
and "pay him. Pay that man his money."
