In a few "off-the-wall" and out of the way places, and on some
coin-droppers. Also there are some that are TITO, but still require a
handpay. The old push-button kind. I don't want to give out my exact
itinerary because Hanks, Doggystyle, or Risky Biz might try to find me and
hit me up for spare change or a free meal. But suffice it to say that I'm
not hanging out at the Bellagio. Smile

Again, thanks to you and Tanya for your serious and helpful replies.

Btw, your comment about the bartenders was funny.

MY pleasure. I know Binion's still does the hand pay thing if you collect more
then $600 (or is it $800??) for your coin count. They just start spitting out at
that point. I'm thinking specifically of $1 VP.

From the perspective of a slot attendant, I am happy to accept whatever
you feel comfortable with giving, and I will let you know my appreciation.
Many of my co-workers have become obsessed with tips and base their
entire MO on who tips well and who does not, and thus become bitter fucks.

We do change the money at the cage in a way that indicates a suggested
tip: $250 - $1000: $5, $1000-2000: $10, $2000 or more: 1% in multiples of
$20, with perhaps slightly more on a large progressive.

Yes, of course I have noticed how they count out a bunch of bills to you until they get to
the last bit of it which they break up in smaller bills, obviously so you can tip them. I
appreciate your input, Fell. But I'm still going to have to give this further thought. I
know I can be more generous on a royal than if the handpay were for something like quads
2s, because the frequency is so much different. And I have to do a balancing act if it's
some place where I will frequent and become known. Also, I have not yet hit a bar top but
that is an issue that will have to be dealt with also. Chandler mentioned that topic. I
guess not only will you have to toke an attendant but also the bartender. Geez, what's a
poor gambler to do?

Thanks, Fell.

I seldom feel obligated to tip the bartender no matter how much they expect it
because I've already been toking them with each drink.  For an understanding of
how your tokes effect ev simply go to your trainer and reduce the pay line by
whatever you would tip for hitting that hand and click "analyze game."
Alternately you can look at the frequency of the hand you would toke for.
Divide the number of hands you play per hour by that frequency and multiply by
the amount you will toke to get how much this will cost you per hour of play.

Fell is correct.  I see a lot of people on the hustle in Las Vegas.  I hate
being hustled even more than I hate being a stiff.

Ok, well I misunderstood your earlier comments on this. I thought that you DO toke the
bartenders. My concern is with a situation where I might become a regular. I do not want
to be met with any negative vibes, if you know what I mean.

Btw, in my recent trips I have played quite a few bartops. I played one all night with
9-7 DB for quarters and it was just over $2000. ER not too shabby, PLUS cb and bennies.
I tired when the sun was coming up and called it a night. Next day I stopped by just to
check, figuring it would surely have been hit by then. Nope. It was over $3000. Wow!
But one thing different, though. This time the place was packed and there was NO getting
a seat. I figured at that point they call their buddies and lock'em up. No doubt their
are teams.

Btw, on another unrelated topic, I have mentioned before that there are practically ZERO
people playing those Guaranteed Play machines. And I've been all over the place and at
every hour of the day. Nobody is playing them! I wonder how long Stations is committed
to that experiment, and what will they do as an encore.
