I've played in casinos in nine countries and have found the only guaranteed
way to double your money. Take your money out of your pocket, fold it in
half and put it back in your pocket. Then run for the fucking door.

Yes, take only what you can afford to lose.
Craps is far and away one of the best games to learn to play. If you can
play a good game of craps, then you can get house edge down around 2.5%.
However, that still means that for every $100 wagered, they will get at
least 2.5% of it (2.50).
Now, you can hit a lucky streak and beat the odds, and if you do, count
your blessings (and your money) safely away from the floor in your hotel
room.
But, for every time someone wins big, there are quite a few more that lose
big.
So, learn the games (Blackjack, two deck hand dealt if you can find it, or
craps are your best bets), take what you can afford to lose, and have fun.
