Todays Tip - Showdowns are King!

Definition of Showdown: If more than one player remains after the last
betting round, remaining players expose and compare their hands to
determine
the winner or winners.

Today I'm going to explain why "Showdowns" may be the most valuable
information you can have on an opponent. In Poker, the only time you
ever get
to see a player's hole cards is when a hand goes to showdown. When
this
happens, you better pay attention because you can learn so much about
the
player by seeing exactly how he played his hand from start to finish.

Showdowns don't happen all that often, but fortunately Poker-Edge
keeps
track of everyone's showdowns for you! By clicking the Recent
Showdowns
Button (Main Window, Showdowns Tab), you can see the recent Showdowns
for any player, regardless if you were present when the showdown
happened or
not! This is one of my favorite features of Poker-Edge!

This information was only supposed to be available to those that were
carefully paying attention at the table when the Showdown happened...
but with Poker-Edge working for you, this valuable information is

In addition to the Recent Showdowns, Poker-Edge also analyzes the
showdown
statistics for every player. Here are some Key Showdown Stats:

W$SD means "Won Money at Showdown."
This is a percentage that shows how often a player wins when he goes
to
showdown. Good players have a number higher than 50%, meaning they win
more often than they lose at Showdown.

(Allin)W$SD means "Won at Showdown IF Allin."
This is a great stat for you No Limit players! If a player moves All-
in on you and
he has a high (Allin)W$SD stat, you better have a darn good hand to
call.

(TU-Raise)W$SD means "Won at Showdown IF he Raised on the Turn."
Have you ever wondered what to do when a player raises you on the
Turn?
Well this stat gives you a great indication of how serious his Turn
raises are.
A high number here means he rarely is bluffing, while a low number
means he
likes to bluff with his turn raises.

These are just a few key stats to get you started. Poker-Edge has over
