With all due respect, I think you are completely wrong about not
tipping dealers. Poker dealers have a very hard job and should be
getting the $30 - $40 per hour they get. Sure it works out to around
50 or 60 K a year, but who else brings so much to the world?

Not everyone can deal. It takes special skills to be able to count to
five to make sure s straight has been made. Not only must they count
to five, but they must be able to count five from ANY starting number
(say like from 6 - 10). Then you add in the fact that J comes after 10
and A can be 1 or 14, now we're talking advanced rocket science. Then
the dealer must be able to split a pot there ways and now expecting
human computers.

Then there are all the colors to deal with. Flushes and blushes must
be differenciated! And all the different chips; why if it were not for
the alert dealer, some one might play with potato chips. Then where
would we be?

Mentioned several times and it bears repeating; The dealer makes for
good conversation. I find most dealers to be very witty and engaging.
They are highly educated, having recieved a certificate after 12
gruelling weeks of education, not to mention most have graduated from
high school. Imagine the life experience that comes from sitting at a
poker table nearly 40 hours a week.

We must treat poker dealers for the national treasures they are.
Besides, who else can we curse out for being card dead for hours? We
must have an appropriate target to throw our cards at when we get a
bad beat. Yes, we must thank the dealer when we flop the nut flush.
You may think it is the reward for playing tight for hours; but in
reality it is the dealer who made it all possible for without him the
cards would just lay there unshuffled and undealt.

You're right, my bad. I forgot that living in your parent's garage you
likely can't get financed, so I was speaking from a frame of reference
that you wouldn't appreciate.

You know, for someone who has done such a good job of thoroughly fucking
up his life (and spent so much time attention-whoring over it) you sure
are awfully quick to think you're in some sort of position to look down on
other folks.

Are you saying that a dealer might give a happy ending if tipped
correctly? I did not know that. Howard Stern never mentioned THAT.

I'd suggest you try your own advice (assuming it won't interfere with your
drunken stupor) and review most of your posts here lately...including your
previous 2 in this sub-thread.

Why? I didn't look down on anyone. I said $6000 doesnt buy a "new car."
Bringing out the payments argument is goofy. It really is.

$6K/yr. was the subject...not a one-time lump-sum. Back to the garage
with you.

Don't criticize another player's tipping policy at the table. He may
have a good reason for witholding tips and would be very irritated if
called out on it.

What attitudes? That I will tip people who I believe have earned it, and not
tip the people who hardly bother making an effort? Yes, I'm sure I'll be
sending out totally wrong messages there.

Why accept a job you cant live on? Seems stupid.

Well for sure I never knew that!

Heh, well the system is at fault there tbh. Charging someone for doing
their job? Madness :p

As above, seems a mad system, but I would likely tip these girls if they
provided a good service (which with the above system, seems highly likely
they would do).

Yes I am an asshole because my opinions and views are different to yours.

Just because someone is holding their hand out, doesn't mean I'm obligated
to give them anything.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to irritate another player at our table....
